Default Non-expanding window boxes cut off text to the right and bottom

I've been using WinWP Home for a couple of years, but for the last 6 months
or so, the non-expanding windows boxes have shrunk to the point of cutting
off text and buttons to the right and to the bottom. I have tried changing
resolution, dpi, font size; but nothing helps. I don't know when exactly
this started, and I don't know if it is the result of a Windows, or other
software/hardware update.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

It's usually the 125% DPI setting that causes this. Open Display
Properties, Settings tab, Advanced button, and change the DPI setting to
"Normal size (96 dpi)". You mentioned you tried this, but I believe
it's the only one Windows doesn't adjust for in those fixed-sized windows.

Changing to a different Font in those windows could help. The size is
usually a calculation based on the default Windows font used there.

Here's a discussion on the subject:

Thanks for trying to help. My dpi is at 96, and as far as I can tell, all
other settings are normal. That's why it has been so irritating trying to
fix this problem. The screen resolution is at 1024x768, and the drop down
fonts are Tahoma 8. Nothing I've changed seems to solve the problem.

Sorry, no more ideas.. But you might try a Google Groups search for
other suggestions. That's where I find solutions to many problems.

Thanks for your info. I searched the group sites, and someone with a similar
problem reset his settings to default. Would you be chance know what the
default settings are? ...or where I can find them?
Thanks

Perhaps they were referring to Display Properties, Themes, "Windows
Classic" or "Windows XP" theme. That's the only default settings I
could find, and it didn't mention the word "default".

If anyone is interested, I fixed this problem on my pc but running sfc.exe.
It didn't appear to do anything, but afterwards, my message boxes were back
to normal size.

Well, sorry to say that fix wasn't permanent. It lasted for about a month,
and now the boxes are back to small, and sfc.exe doesn't seem to fix it
anymore.
Any ideas??????????
