RANTHONY2 these forums are for people to exchange ideas and helpful tips on how to solve Windows based problems.

Typing this,

PLEASE ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM~~

GET WINDOWS MESSENGER OFF MY MACHINE NOW
AND KEEP IT OFF UNTIL IT IS FIXED!

will do absolutely nothing to solve this problem as everyone here volunteers their knowledge for your and others' benefit.

AND when you type in all caps it's just plain rude per posting etiquette.

You probably mean Messenger Service, not Windows Messenger, 2
completely different things.
Messenger Service is a valuable tool that many people use.
No need to pay for the fix.
For Messenger Service ads:
You need to install or enable a firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330904
Disabling Messenger Service can be a good idea, but it does not solve
the real problem.
The ads are not the real problem, the ads are only a symptom.
The real problem is open ports that allow unwanted traffic into the
computer.
Disabling Messenger does nothing for the open ports.
The firewall controls the traffic.

Internet Connection Firewall will not work if you have AOL.
AOL is not compatible with Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
(ICF)
If you have AOL, you should contact AOL and/or get a 3rd party
firewall.

Disable Messenger Service:
Start/Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, click Services.
Go down to "Messenger".
Right click "Messenger" and select Properties.
Then under Start-up select DISABLE
Click OK and follow prompts

Also, please do not use ALL CAPS in newsgroups.
ALL CAPS is considered shouting and rude.

Now can you please advise me how to get this message
directly to Microsoft? I meandered for a long time
through their web page and kept getting directed to third-
party, "contact the manufacturer of your computer" types
of links, which is how I found this forum, but still do
not know how to send an email directly to Microsoft.

Microsoft have already got the message, from any number of people. There is
even a response at their web site. Here's a link to it.
