File Associations

when I try to open certain things (like drives) in
Explorer, it either always opens in a new window (although
the option is set to open in the same window) or gives me
an error... I have to right-click and choose "explore" to
even open some folders or drives... can I re-set these

Reboot and hit F8 while the computer is starting then Select Last known good.
