animated icons for windows xp desktop

wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to replace
static icons with animated icons on xp. was told
elsewhere how to do it (and it worked), but I then lost
transparency on my desktop icons, which I didn't like.
Also got the suggestion to make up a html page, and add
the animations I wanted ... this would work for just
decorations, but not to replace my folder icons with
animated icons. Especially as my desktop is a wallpaper
program which rotates my desktop wallpaper every minute...
anyone have any more ideas for me???
