Appearance of Desktop
Just received a new computer with Windows XP Pro
installed. When I go to Display Properties and then to Appearance and on the Desktop set a color and then apply and then OK, the program acts as if it doesn't recognize the command and the Text under the Icons remains white without a background color making it very difficult to read against a white or pale background. What am I doing wrong? |

Appearance of Desktop
Hi Dale,
By default in XP, it can't be manually changed. The text changes on its own from dark to light depending on the color of the background. It is based on the Desktop color not the Wallpaper. The combo is whether or not you are using a Wallpaper and what the Desktop color is. -- All the Best, Kelly MS-MVP Win98/XP [AE-Windows® XP] Troubleshooting Windows XP http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions and Answers http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm "Dale Tahner" wrote in message ...
