Default mpeg files and too fast audio

I am trying to make a movie with mpeg video files from my
new Sony Mavica CD digital camera. When I play these in
Movie Maker preview or on MediaPlayer, they sound fine,
but when I drag them into the timeline and save them as a
movie, the audio plays at twice the speed of the video and
we all sound like we've sucked down a helium balloon! Any
help is most apprecaited...
