Default Clips splitting incorrectly

my problem is that often (alot) a clip will retain one
frame from the clip previous to it. if the clips are in
succesion, this is not a problem, but if i want to move
the clips to a different location, when the clip plays in
the movie, it shows one frame of the clip previously.
what i have to do is trim the clip while in the timeline.

this is happening more since upgrading to the final
version of moviemaker 2 from beta. also is hanging more
and will cause a restart.

any ideas?

Travis,

On the clip splitting, try being just a tad on the other side of the cut
point before doing the slip. When you are on one side of the exact point you
get what you are seeing, but when on the other side, it'll be clean. I
forget which side is which, but it's easy to do some and check it.

On your hanging issue, have you gone through checking your hardware
acceleration and looked for clashing codecs?

i guess i'm not following you completly. the clips are
the ones that are automatically split on capture from my
dv camera using windows movie maker. i want to be able
to just pull the clips down without having to cut the
first frame off every time.

Travis,

I guess I was thinking that you were manually cutting the clips. Is it from
a digital camcorder where Movie Maker uses timecode, or from an analog
source that it is doing scene detection on?
