in order to do that you need a way to get analog video into your computer;
The ATI All-in-Wonder cards do this; you may also look at an external
device that connects via usb...Just go to your local computer store and as
for help....if you don't feel comfortable opening your computer, then just
look for an exteranl solution.

Todd, I also have sonic and I have heard about having to

hook up your vcr but I do not know the specifics. When
you get info, can you share it with me.

The easiest way to hook a PC to a VCR is to go through a DV Camcorder. Most
of them have pass-through and you can connect firewire (IEEE 1394) to the
computer and analog out to one of the inputs on the VCR. You can usually go
the other way as well (from VCR to computer) to capture.
