Hmmmm, I don't know with as much information as you have provided it could
be anything from a failed driver that is maybe corrupt and just needs
updated drivers or may you don't have your computer turned on while trying
to play DVDs.

Obviously a hardware problem...See if you can get new keyboard drivers so
that you can type in other than CAPITAL LETTERS!
