removing movie maker

I was thinking about using installing the "freebie" Movie Maker to learn
about
editing film from my video camera and then go onto a better product;
however,
the comments below seem to be a warning to stay away from Movie Maker
unless I want to stay with it permanently or at least until I upgrade my OS.

Is that a fair assumption?

Movie Maker is built into the XP operating system and can't be removed.
You
can delete some of the files like the help and samples, but not all of
them.
