Default Can't play dvds

I get the following error when I try to play a dvd using
media player 9. Error ID = 0xC00D116A, Condition ID =
0x00000000. I use to be able to play dvds but I had to
install a new mother board and reformat the hard drive
along with reinstalling XP. I have a Pentium 1ghz Celeron
processor, 250 megs of ram. I use an ATI Radeon 7000
video card. I have been out to ATI and have got the
newest drivers. I also reinstalled the ATI desktop
display with DVD payer software that originally came with
the card. I can not use the AtI dvd player as I get an
error telling me either I have no sound card connected,
or some other program is using the overlays or I don't
have enough memory. I can eliminate the memory and sound
card problem but I don't know anything about the overlay
problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction. If
you could email me with suggestions I would appreciate
it. Thanks! Dennis

You won't like my advise but ditch WMP 9 for watching DVDs and get PowerDVD,
WinDVD 4, or Interactive Player which incidently comes on many DVD's just
look for the "All aXess" feature listed and it will have interactive player
on the DVD.

I have almost an exact system as you, 1.0 Ghz AMD Athlon, 256 MB RAM, ATI
Radeon 7500 and I play DVD's great. Incidently CAN all ATI video playing
software, like the DVD player, it's garbage.
