Default Problem recording to DV camcorder from firewire.

Had this type of problem with various software packages.
The Ulead actually worked when I rendered the video out
to a compatable DV file type. I don't recall
specifically which one it was, but I recall a 'type II'
format that finally worked for me.

What I finally did was went out and bought a DVD burner
and Video Vega. It's a $600 upgrade, but to me it was
worth it.

Having problem sending edited movie AVI and MPG files

back
to DV camcorder. Using sony Digital8 to download which
works great with full control and video using 1394 ilink
connection. Downloaded clips are edited on Ulead's
VideoStudio software and saved as AVI and MPG files.

Both
plays back great on preview and were able to burn a copy
to VCD format but unable to record back to the same DV
camcorder. A grey masked picture with no sound is
displayed with bits of pixelated images of video showing
through. Using XP-Pro OS, AMD processor, ATI Radeon
8500DV video card with 1394 capture card.
Is there a compatibility problem with Windows XP-Pro?
I have checked and re-checked all settings, seems to be
correct. Can anyone solve this problem?? Thanks!!
