2 Programs on same (1) Computer?
Is it possible to use windows 2000 & XP on the same
compuer? The reason I ask, my digitaal camera will not allow me to download photos directly from the camera. I had to purchase a Compact Flash Card Reader. Only with XP the computer reboot when i hit the download button. 2000 would work perfectly. not that I intend on purchasing a new 2000 program. I already have one laying around the house. So if it's possible to run both programs together then I will do it. Thank you for your insight |

Dee, I use a Compact Flash Reader on a XP machine with no problem. I think
you can get it working. That is a much better idea than having a dual boot system. -- Steve C. Ray Replace "mail" with "36db" "Dee" wrote in message ... Dee, I agree with Steve. I have used 2 different readers
with no problems yet (of course that does not mean everyone has been as fortunate as me, obviously). I would contact the manufacturer of your memory card reader about the problem, and if they can't help you go ahead and send me an email and I'll se what I can do for you as soon as possible. Dee,
As Steve mentioned, there is no reason that you can't fix the problem without creating the potential of dual-boot problems. I have a SanDisk reader attached to my WinXP Pro machine without any problems. The first thing you should do is go to the Website for your CF Card Reader's mfr and see if there are newer drivers that might help. If that doesn't do it, boot into Safe Mode and go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager (from Hardware tab), expand Disk Drives and delete any/all instances of your CF Card Reader. Reboot and see if it installs it properly. Failing that, contact the CF Card Reader's tech supt and see if they can help you resolve the problem. -- Regards, Len Segal, MCP Microsoft - MVP -------------- My reply address is intentionally wrong to reduce SPAM Email.
