Default Movie Maker 2 - Language Problem

For some odd and peculiar reason my version is in German
(I think) and I can't uninstall or reinstall in English.
I've tried downloading Movie Maker 2 from this site to
upgrade but my version is still 1.2.2541.0 and in German.

Default Movie Maker 2 - Language Problem

Ken,

Let me copy a post from the MM2 newsgroup yesterday. Different language but
the same need:

"Simply changing the language preference setting and
trying to redownload MM2 did`t actually ACHIEVE anything
(still had the same problem)

But then....

I deleted the files which were in the MM directory ("You
did WHAT!!?" I hear you say - I`m sure that many people
would tell me that you don`t just go around deleting
files from folders, but wait, there`s more) then I
redownloaded MM2 from Microsoft.

And, hey presto, it worked. MM2 in english"

PapaJohn,

Thanks for help, unfortunately that didn't work for me
this morning. I'll try again later. Should delete
registries as well?

Ken,

Is your whole XP in German or just MM2? If just the MM2 part, and you can't
get it via a normal download from the Microsoft site, I could give you a
copy.

Hi PapaJohn,

Thanks for the extra effort! It's appreciated.

MM2 is in German only. As per your earlier suggestion
I've tried deleting the files folder by folder until
there are 3 .dll files left which won't be deleted as
apparently some other app is using them. I've shut
everything down but with the same results.

When I do go for the reinstall, oddly, I keep getting the
pop up that says resuming the setup wizard for windows
MM2.0

I've tried opening the reinstall from the Microsoft
server as well as downloading the file. Nothing changes
as after the install I can't find the application to get
it started so I try the old one from my recycle bin.

I wouldn't mind trying your copy of the file. Can you
email it to me or can I download it somewhere from you?

Once again thanks for all your help.

Would love to get this going as my 7 year old son has his
working and laughs at my dilemna.
