Default No DVD

This is my problem too...also my DVD player wont
recognize NOTHING! It happened EXACTELY after I installed
SP1 for XP. I thought it was my DVD player being burnt
up. I sent it back to the manufacturer and they said they
heard it was because of people downlaoding SP1. It
appears to happen with ALL computer DVD players after
installing SP1. Microsoft won't admit it though. Go
figure.

I hope I'm at the right place to ask for guidance. I

have
XP and I cannot get my DVD drive to play DVD's. The

drive
will play CD's and programs, just not DVD. I'm using a
Samsung DVD drive and have downloaded Windvd 4.0 as well
as InterVideo and Zoom (not to mention PowerDVD SE as a
plug in for WinMedia) but I barely can get Windows to
recognize its a DVD when I put one in much less than

play
it. Any ideas what I'm missing? This drive worked fine
when I was using Win98.

Thanks!
John
