Default Marking & copying text from the cmd (DOS) window

When you right click the mouse in the cmd window and choose the Mark
option, you can highlight a box of text in the window. However, I don't
know how to copy the text in the highlighted box to save it in the
notepad, for instance. Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V doesn't seem to do it. So what
does?

Right-click in the title bar, away from the left or right end. In the
pull-down menu, select [Edit Copy]. This will copy whatever is
highlighted (marked).

You can also select [Edit Paste] to paste whatever is on the clipboard
to the command window prompt.

Once the text in the cmd window is highlighted, just press Enter. That
automatically copies the highlighted text to the clipboard.

Then you can switch to Notepad or whatever and Ctrl-V should paste it.

After the text is marked, press the Enter key to put it on the
clipboard. Then you can Ctrl-V it into Windows programs as usual.

Now this is a method I would never have thought of! Thanks, it works.

Right-click on the selection (the highlight).

Thanks, that also put the selection to the clipboard.
I wish I had known about this before, it would have saved me a lot of
extra work.

When you right click to select the menu option Mark it says just below
it 'Copy Enter'. You can't select it but it's there as a hint :-)
