'Wake on Lid Open': Not available?
It's enabled in BIOS.
And I am pretty sure I saw it briefly in Control Panel | Power Options, but I cannot find it. As us ZenBook, 8.1. ?? -- Pete Cresswell |

'Wake on Lid Open': Not available?
Per Ron:
Right click on battery iconpower optionschoose what closing the lid doessleep Already have that set and it works. What I am looking for is Lid *Open* to automagically wake it up from Sleep. Actually, I have it set to Hibernate on Lid Close... if that makes any diff. -- Pete Cresswell |

When you've Hibernated everything is powered off. -- Brian Gregory (in the UK). To email me please remove all the letter vee from my email address. |

You can't wake from Hibernation. When you've Hibernated everything is powered off. Although Windows 8 tends to use a hybrid mode where the state is saved as in hibernate, but power is retained as in sleep. As I understand it, if power is not lost, startup is quicker, i.e, the same as in sleep. And it *does* feels like that to me with my W8 setup. -- Gene E. Bloch (Stumbling Bloch) |

Per Brian Gregory:
Wake is for sleep. You can't wake from Hibernation. When you've Hibernated everything is powered off. We have a winner!!!! Also, that would explain why I actually *had* seen the option at some time. Thanks! -- Pete Cresswell |

Yeah, but that shoots down my idea about hybrid shutdown :-) Oh well, it's almost April, a whole new month in which to get my monthly good answer. -- Gene E. Bloch (Stumbling Bloch) |

We may have a "winner", but I don't understand what you mean by "automatically waking it up from sleep" with the lid open. You have to at least touch a key or move/click the mouse. |
