Can't disable mouse wake from sleep.
Can't disable mouse wake from sleep. I have a Dell Optiplex 780 Win 10 v1803 Logitech TK-820 Keyboard with built-in touchpad Logitech M510 Mouse Cirque GB410 Serial Touchpad The M510 is very sensitive to vibration and wakes the system when I don't want to. I want to disable ONLY the M510 wake from sleep. I've been using the Cirque touchpad for years with win7 and ancient drivers that no longer work. Can't find any win10-workable drivers, so Scroll doesn't work. The Touchpad in the TK-820 is ergonomically UNUSABLE. Has no buttons. You push the whole touchpad to click. It's virtually impossible to click the touchpad without moving the cursor. I use the Cirque or M510 mouse buttons in conjunction with TK-820 pad. That sorta works, but I need to disable wake on mouse. The checkboxes in mouse device properties do absolutely nothing. Powercfg shows all still enabled. If I disable everything mouse related using powercfg, the result is: C:\Windows\system32powercfg -devicequery wake_armed Logitech HID-compliant Unifying keyboard HID Keyboard Device Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection Logitech HID-compliant Unifying keyboard (001) The mouse still wakes from sleep. If I disable wake for ANY of the three keyboard entries, NOTHING will wake the computer, not even the Cirque serial touchpad. Have to press the power button to get it back. Ideas on how I can disable only the one mouse? The only option I can think of is to take the keyboard apart and bring out the click switch connection and place a switch where I can reach it with my left hand. |

So the Unifying Receiver is waking the system ? And not the mouse ? I don't have any wireless HID stuff to know what Device Manager looks like for those. If you changed the Unifying Receiver, it might be all or nothing for all I know. Paul |

So the Unifying Receiver is waking the system ? And not the mouse ? In my case either Bluetooth or the U receiver do the same thing. And both my W10 devices do the same thing using them with the mouse. What I need is a way to automatically turn off the mouse (and/or the mouse wireless) in W10 when sleeping. I can see why many would not want it this way because under normal circumstances it is handy to just move your mouse to wake the computer. My only solution so far is to set the 'sleep on inactivity' setting to 5 minutes so it doesn't stay awake long after a mouse bump. I too would be interested in a better solution (besides junking the mouse)... |

One bump, even bumping the table with the mouse on it brings my laptop out of sleep. The fact that the "gain" is turned up on mice now, the DPI is higher, isn't helping matters. My old mouse is pretty good on "bumps". The new mouse is extra-sensitive. It's a lot easier to bump that one. Of the two mice on the other machine, one turns off the sensor in sleep, and only the mouse buttons will wake that one. Whereas the newer mouse with the "high gain" optical sensor, keeps everything armed while the computer sleeps. The light source on that one is "pulsed" to save power, yet still remains armed for waking. It can tell from one "pulse" of the blue LED to the next, that it's been moved. Paul |

I like to leave several apps open when my devices are sleeping and since shutdown closes all apps that wouldn't work for me. I did try using hibernate for awhile on my laptop but even that was a pain waiting for the slow restart. And my other W10 device (keyboard/tablet) is not capable of hibernating so I still had the problem with it anyway. |

Is that mouse wireless ? yes and the mouse, touchpad, keyboard all work thru the same Unifying receiver with setpoint software. I don't know where the Cirque shows up. The mouse settings in control panel affect it, but there's no obvious presence otherwise. So the Unifying Receiver is waking the system ? And not the mouse ? The cirque is connected to the serial port Turning off the keyboard wake also turns off the cirque. I don't have any wireless HID stuff to know what Device Manager looks like for those. If you changed the Unifying Receiver, it might be all or nothing for all I know. Â*Â* Paul I put a piece of black tape over the mouse laser. Now it doesn't wake the computer, but the keys and wheel still work in conjunction with the touchpad on the keyboard. I'll see if I can get used to that method. |

Paul I had problems with my Logitech mouse a while back and found that I had to reset the Unifying Receiver by unplugging and replugging. Don't know if it will help with your problems but sometimes a reset is all it needs. Ted |

That didn't work for me either, but using powercfg did. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...dows-10-a.html For me, the problem seemed to be that the mouse and touchpad and keyboard all come through the same Logitech unifying receiver. I like that because I can set the pointer speeds individually. BUT, the second Cirque touchpad goes through the serial port. It got disabled too when I disabled the logitech devices. Go figger... Overnight, my machine woke up twice by the lan. No idea why, but disabling lan wake from sleep seems to have fixed that too. view "by connection" and disable wake for the USB hub (or root device, can't remember which) above the wireless receiver for the mouse. |

I tried powercfg in both the Powershell(Admin) (and redid it in the Administrator Command Prompt - just in case) and both gave me the same: "You do not have permission to enable or disable device wake". Apparently I need more than just administrator authority. Overnight, my machine woke up twice by the lan. No idea why, but disabling lan wake from sleep seems to have fixed that too. It appears my machine is going to win this one... |
