Major intermittent audio problem!
I'm having a problem since upgrading clients from IM from 3.5 (Exchange
backend) to 5.0 (Exchange backend). Ever since the upgrade, some people at times are getting intermittent audio, sometimes right as they start the voice conversation or sometimes a ways through a conversation of perfect audio till that point. When the problem occurs it starts cutting off words, and sometimes it will cut off for a few seconds, before coming back. This is an internal switched 100Mbit network so it's not a lack network bandwidth that's doing this. And we have been using IM 3.5 for a few years and never had this problem at all. It's bad enough that I'm thinking of rolling back to IM3.5 but we were hoping in the future to drop exchange messaging and move to SIP which is why we moved to 5.0, along with the better sounding audio codecs. (If they only worked all the time, because they do sound a lot better) I have done a lot to testing on this to see if it's the same computers always having the problems or what, and so far I can find no pattern at all. One day 2 computers will be having the problem, and then I'll test the same 2 computers and they will be fine. So I don't know what it could be. If anyone has ANY ideas at all please let me know. I am desperate for a solution as rolling back to IM3.5 isn't something I'm looking forward to at all. Thanks Chris |

Well I guess it's rolling back to 3.5 since no one had any ideas... bummer
for me no LCS in the future for us. BTW would this be something I call PSS about and get them to fix? "Jon Smith" wrote in message ... Ok, so do they have a fix, as in they know of this problem? Or you mean if I
call I can start working with them to try and get it fixed? I'm just like 1 day from rolling back to 3.5 as it's driveing everyone crazy.. so if it's going to be a long debuging prossess to figuer it out I think I'll have to roll back anyway, but if it's a known thing then I will call for sure. Jon,
All I found out was that the fastest way to debug this will be the support line. Hopefully someone out there might just know what to do to fix this soon. Good luck!! Thanks! Major intermittent audio problem!
Unfortunately I wasn't given the time to do this, the upper management told
me to roll back.. So we're back to 3.5 with no problems at all again. Very odd stuff, and a bummer for me, as it will probably be a long while before we can try again and go to LCS.
