Default Windows 8.1 Full Version for 300€

In my country, Windows 8.1 full version DVD costs 300€. For that kind of
money people could buy a small laptop with Windows 8.1 OEM. But you can't
own the software.

Please explain what you mean that "you can't own the software". I
haven't seen a EULA for Windows, going back to Windows 1.0 that gives
the purchaser actual ownership of the software.

Ownership of Windows doesn't exist, neither at local shops or anywhere
else, and regardless of what price you pay. What you can buy is a
license to use the software, not to own it.

What is your country called? I am UK and I don't see anything like what
you seem to suggest.

If I had the original DVD, besides the possibility of reinstalling Windows,
I had a physical proof that I have a license to use Windows.

I did a Google search without results of online shops, except Microsoft
Store which asks for credit card. I know myself a few online shops that
accept normal atm payment. They have Windows 8.1 upgrade, Windows 8.1 Pro
Pack upgrade and Windows 8.1 Pro Full Version.

Your license key is your 'proof'. Physical media has little or no value.

These countries using the Euro as their currency are all struggling
apart from Germany. Even Germany is in deflation mode at the moment. UK
is doing pretty good because we are not using the Euro as our currency.
Greece is almost bankrupt; Even an average African country is doing
better than Greece at the moment.

Good for you being in UK. Euro currency is too strong for us. I believe
common currency is good for business between European countries. A few years
ago products from outside our country had low prices. Credit interest rates
were low too. People began to spend a lot, now we have to pay the debt. I
agree with you, South European countries are strugglling to keep in the same
boat.

Sorry, that's not correct either. See Char's reply.

In your country. In which country are you asked to pay 300 euro for a
Windows 8.1 license with media?

You never mentioned which *edition* of Windows 8.1 you are talking
about. There's the one with no edition name (which is probably
equivalent to a Home Edition) and the Pro edition. Full retail licenses
with media cost $120 (106 euro) for Home at Newegg & Microsoft Store,
$190 (168 euro) for Pro at Newegg or $200 (177 euro) at the Microsoft
Store.

Whoever is saying it costs 300 euros is ripping you off, you are not
disclosing what they are really offering at that price, or you don't
know what they are offering at that price.
