Default XP Startup or defrag

when i startup my pc i get a blue screen that asks me to run chkdsk /f every
time i can cancel this which i usually do, and when i try to defrag my pc it
tells me that chkdsk /f is scheduled to run so i have run it but it stillasks
me to run again when i try to defrag and wont let me defrag
any help

Best to let the CHKDSK run!
