Default Problem Making A DVD

While trying to make a DVD, the system gets almost 1/2 through "converting
files" then just stops. I've tried everying and dont' seem to be able to get
it to complete. How exactly are you supposed to put the finished video onto
a DVD? Am i doing somethign wrong?

Default Problem Making A DVD

Hi John.

I captured video using Pinnacle, but was never able to burn a completed
project. So I found the MS Windows Movie Maker software, and opened the
original captured videos. I edited them down, and then tried to use the move
maker software to burn a video dvd. It goes through its process- saves the
file to the computer, then starts a "conversion process" then locks up at
about 40% of this. after 24 hours it has not moved. I'm really getting
frustrated, beucase the pinnacle software I paid $100 does not work, and
neither does the MS program. I'm pretty much stupified. My computer
incidently is only one year old. Its a fully loaded Dell E310, with plenty
of ram, HD space (over 160 Gig total, 100 of which is free). So I don't
think its a slow system problem. Maybe a bad driver, or a bad configuration
somewhere.... any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!
Mike

OK. I found out that the micorsoft program, won't burn DVD's. Very
misleading.

Any way, I am now trying to use sonic my DVD to burn a DVD. This still does
not work, it says the media is incompatible. It is the right media. As far
as I can tell as the Phililps website says it will work with DVD+R discs. So
what do you think I should do now?

There are so many issues that can affect video
editing it's hard to diagnose the problem.

Have you seen this article:
MM2 - Problem Solving - 'Can't Save A Movie'

Have you ever burned any type of DVD...even
a Data DVD successfully with your DVD burner?

The last new machine I purchased had a bad
DVD burner right out of the box.

I've had good luck using the DVD blanks at the
following link but that's no guarantee they would
work for you.

Hi,

I have been having a similar issue using Sonic Digital Media Plus--DVDit v7.
I am not sure if it is the drive itself, or the program. When I try to copy
a DVD that was prevoiusly made on a DVD burner (for the tv), the program
won't even take the disk. It will say check for finger prints and scratches.
This same brand of DVD worked fine a few days ago. Is it possible that the
burner is overworked? I am trying to make multiple copies (slightly over 50)
of home movies of the family. I alos got that following error message:
Error signature--app name: Medishubexe
App Version: 2310 Modname pxd11
Mod version 2424 (or 9)500 offset
0003e143

Pick up a $10 cleaner disk from the local department or PC store, and
run it through the drive. It may help to clean the laser, which can
become cloudy or dirty in time.
