Default Cannot play recorded DVD on an home player

After I finish recording(whether recording TV shows or external video from
capture device),,when I want to make a copy(onto DVD),,the copied disc does
not play in any home player(keep getting disc errors),,,,but,,, if I put disc
back into computer DVD rom drive,,it will play..
My promblem is that I want my recordings to be able to transfer on to DVD
and then play on my home player...is there some setting that is wrong or am I
using wrong type of DVD discs,,,don't know..

I am using TDK DVD-R disc to maker copies of my videos which should be
compaitable with most all standard DVD players...
These discs are 8X compaitable(my burner is +/- 16X write speed),,,I don't
know if this makes a difference or not...
If anyone has any suggessions as to what might be wrong...I would appreciate
the help.....!!!!!!!

Are you using DVD authoring software to
create the Video DVD? Some examples...
Nero, ULead, Sonic, WinDVD Creator,
ProShow Gold, etc....

Most capture card recording software is pretty bad,all you reallly need are
the drivers only from the cards cd,for software use the WM encoder 9 series
+ the utilities. If you still want the 3rd party software, then still get the
encoder,
once youre file is captured, run it thru the encoder "convert audio/video"
once
thru,write to dvd.
