Default Importing browser settings

How can i import browser settings from firefox to ie8.
The option import from another browser is greyed out so cant tick the box in ie8.

This article shows a policy setting. I don't have this on my system.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer
DisableImportExportFavorites ( set to 1 to disable )

On a domain, the administrator can use a GPO to block the Import/Export Wizard.
And a single policy can set multiple registry settings (perhaps the same
setting as that manual recipe). Administrators use these tools for convenience
when managing a lot of PCs.

I can find guides for manually transfer settings from one browser
to another, but that looks like a nuisance.

IE never makes life straightforward.
