Default Broadcom ???

After an overhaul by an expert, I now have a 64 bit app "Broadcom"
which seems to now be necessary for internet connectinity.

What's this all about ?

And when you do "Properties" on the EXE, what does it say ?

Vista

And why can't you contact the expert and find out what was added ?

Not an option right now.

Did you look in Programs and Features (Control Panel) ?
Is there a Broadcom entry there, complete with descriptive string ?

Broadcom NetXtreme-I Netlink Driver and Management Installer

My guess is, the Device Manager properties page is probably
using some of the software from that. For tuning, such as
enabling TCP Offload or the like.

It shouldn't really "gate" Ethernet usage. I don't think
the software provides a panel for PPPOE username and
password, as that's a Windows function.

Program Files may have a folder with the Broadcom stuff
in it. Or in some cases, the files are unpacked in a
folder under C: , before being moved/copied into System32.
If there was going to be documentation, a .chm file
or whatever, I'd have to track it down to find it.

You'd want a search like Agent Ransack, so you wouldn't
miss any storage locations that Broadcom is using.
