Default XP SP2 Firewall Can't Get Rid of "Not Protected" Warning Balloon

Since installing SP2, every time I boot Windows I get the warning
balloon that my computer is not protected because I have disabled
Windows Firewall.

I have a router installed in my home and have no need for the Windwos
Firewall. I've unched the Security Warning notifications and set the
Firewall settings to OFF and NOT MONITORED.

Yet, each time I reboot, the warning is back.

I have set the registry entry found in this newsgroup earlier
(FirewallDisableNotify), but the notifications still popup.

Hi,

If the "Change the Way Security Center Notifies Me" doesn't stick
when you reboot, or you want to disable the Security Center totally,
you can do the following:

Start/Run -- services.msc

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.

Just for the record... I have a router too, but I leave Windows Firewall
on... hasn't caused any problems. It also has a few features that routers
can't do.
