Copy DV casette contents to DVD

Could someone help with this? Or direct me to another site that can offer this kind of help?
I have a Canon ZR85 Mini DV Digital Video Recorder (camcorder). I have casettes of a trip to Italy that I would like to put on DVDs and give to members of my family.
I run XP Pro with SP2 and have a Sony DVD burner in an ADS Tech. enclosure running on an Adaptec Firewire connection.
When I hook the camera to the DVD burner via a Firewire cable, all I get is a "DV IN" notice. What do I have to do or have to get the tape onto the disk (it's a DVD RW disc with 4.7 GB capacity).
