Default Windows xp media center

Good morning -recently when I open Media Center I get the message "Messenger
failure" and to make sure it is installed on my computer -I didn't use to get
this -is there a way to get rid of it or install messenger -thank you- Els
I have installed service pack 3

I have installed service pack 3



I have found, that if you do not use messenger, you can go to startcontrol paneladd/remove programsclick on left side add/remove window componentswhen window opens, scroll to bottom, uncheck windows messenger. Hit apply and close when done. Restart windows media center and see if thats good for you. Was for me and countless others. You may still access messenger, manually.
