windows pc defender
I have been getting weird pop ups from windows pc defender telling me that my
computer has been invaded. When I proceed to clear the virus, I am face with a charge and a new system. Also my McAffee won't open. I ran mcAffee tech but still get the popup. Is this legit from Windows pc defender or a virus. Any experiencing the same. Thanks -- larry c |

Your computer is very possibly infected with a variant of AntiVirus
2009. If you are technically inclined we can point you to some online resources that may help you. Otherwise, I would seriously recommend showing your computer to a professional. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est larry c wrote: I have been getting weird pop ups from windows pc defender telling me that my computer has been invaded. Thanks Your system is infected with a rogue antivirus program. It is called "rogue" because it pretends to be A Good Guy but is really Evil. Do not pay them! Look for removal steps here Bleeping Computer removal how-to's - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum55.html or here - Malwarebytes malware removal guides - http://tinyurl.com/5xrpft Malwarebytes' Anti-malware (MBAM) or SuperAntiSpyware will often do the job. Both have free versions and you do not need to purchase these programs. These may work for you and all may be well. However, in many cases the computer will also be infected with Zlob and/or Vundo trojans and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either get guided help at one of the specialty forums below OR back up your data and do a clean install of Windows. It is your choice. Or you can take your machine to a local computer professional. I don't recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places.
