Default When I click on Device Manager I get MMC nsap-in problem

There is no listing of the devices on my computer but only that message. 3
days ago I proceeded with Windows XP automatic updates and since then I have
had that problem. My WebCam although properly installed is not recognized
when going on MSN Messenger. Furthermore the Window Media Centre can't play
any music files, and this has started since the latest updates. Is there a
way to remove the last updates from Windows automatic updates or/and correct
this problem with the device manager Please get back to me on this...Cheers

Whenever you ask about an error message, we need to know the complete,
exact text of the message.

Here's my guess at what you're seeing:

Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name: Device Manager
CLSID:{74246BFC-4C96-11D0-ABEF-0020AF6B0B7A}

If I guessed correctly, the solution is to click Start Run type this
command into the white box:

regsvr32 devmgr.dll

then click OK.
