Cannot delete:access is denied message
There are some file/folders I am unable to delete. When I try, I get error
message that reads: Cannot delete (name of folder): Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. Not sure what to do to be able to delete these. Not even sure how to find out if I am the owner of the files. I am the administrator and that has not changed. Please help? I am using Windows XP Home Edition. |

Yes this problem often tease the administrators too. Sometimes the file/folder is being used by a hidden process, which is hard to detect. But I have a solution for it. I have used “Long Path Tool” in this situation and it helped me easily and quickly. This tool can fix all the error messages like: 1. Path too long 2. Cannot delete file: cannot read from source file or disk 3. Cannot delete file: Access is denied 4. There has been a sharing violation. 5. The source or destination file may be in use. 6. The file is in use by another program or user. 7. The file name you specified is not valid or too long. Specify a different file name. and all other related error messages. I hope you will find this solution helpful and don’t forget to leave your comments. |

You thought mumbeaver was still waiting for a solution for over 4 YEARS? Picture a skeleton sitting in front of a cobweb-covered monitor. Next time look at the timestamps of the posts to which you reply. |
