Default Networked printer problem

Windows XP PCs/laptops all running on a shared home network. Set up printer
connected to one of the PCs for sharing. When attempting to connect one of
the PCs(laptops) to a printer, which I can see using browsing, I get an error
message (Error: The printer name is not valid). Tried renaming. Current
name "HP2200". Highlight the "browsed" printer and click Next, I get the
error; "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was
typed incorrectly or the specified printer has lost its connection to the
server. For more information, click help".
I did run the wizard for all and have all the PCs/laptops in the same
workgroup.

It looks like this in the Shared printer list:
\\HOMECOMP\HP2200 hp psc 2200 series
