Installing new drivers
I have Windows xp, IE 8. I have had my computer for 5 years & never
installed new drivers. How important is it to update drivers? My system is working fine. Thanks, -- john |

Thanks, -- john If your system is working fine, and all your hardware is fine, then there is no real need for driver updating. If you need a newer driver, the device or OS will certainly let you know ;-) -- SC Tom |

You say, "microsoft doesn[']t employ 100s of software techs who do nothing but update software"; are you sure? You say, "same goes with drivers, they dont improve it for nothing"; I ask you "What?" Most of the drivers that you use on your Windows operating system were not written by Microsoft, but by the actual hardware device manufacturer. So - on many levels, your answer makes no sense. Not that I would be totally surprised, but... In any case - better to leave well enough alone when it comes to drivers. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
