Wow man what an exciting life you lead.

Dead right, man! Working with Windows isn't straight-forward for a Mac
aficionado! ;-)

Maybe you can explain how/why my header refers to Dustin?

Perhaps you'll also notice that this post of mine has been written and
posted before you posted yours!

An account holder (or someone w/ his credentials) can configure the
account at e-s with a (possibly bogus or borrowed) FQDN for e-s to use
when creating the M-ID for the account's msg/s.

Enter he http://www.eternal-september.org/signon.php (warning;
insecure connxn for such as credential entering)

FQDN

You may now register a FQDN that you may use to generate your own Message-IDs
Please enter the desired subdomain part.
Your complete FQDN will be yoursubdomain.eternal-september.org

That is where you would put your 'one-in-the-eye-for-dustin'

As regards other configurations, you should remove this Avast sig ad
trailer from your msg/s by configuring Avast

Thank you for the reminder, Mike!

That is a pretty significant degree of 'forgetful' to not remember
having done something like that.

When I look around to see if there are online tests for forgetfulness,
the first things I encounter are simple tests based on short-term memory
loss such as cognitive impairment. That doesn't seem appropriate for
forgetting something not so recent but 'significant' (not significant in
substance, but significant in 'structure', ie logging into one's e-s
account and /also/ choosing the phrase one-in-the-eye-for-dustin which
is quite unique - but which you did at some point in the past.

Someone is likely to say that could well be related to alcohol impairment.

Besides the articles on testing for the short term memory loss
deficiency which I don't find useful for this particular example, there
is another article on the psychology of it.

https://www.verywellmind.com/forgett...hology-2795034 The
Psychology of Forgetting and Why Memory Fails

While didactic, it doesn't have any useful tests, tho'.

Here's another idea; see if you like this one better.

You DID NOT actually forget having done that.

Instead, you dishonestly *pretended* to not know how that M-ID header
came to be that way in order to *draw attention* to it, so that you
could demonstrate to others how clever you are.

Presumably you particularly wanted Dustin to note how 'clever' you are,
as he is prone to whip up custom M-IDs by his agent, not by the NSP.

I first saw it on his "anonymous" post and wondered if he got the idea
from me when I explained the subdomain option to SC.

No. I changed it quite a few years ago. I rarely use Eternal-September
because I don't completely trust the provider. He has only ONE
'connection' on LinkedIn. That is not 'logical'.
