I stand corrected - but I think you know what I was getting at!

Er... No, actually.

Perhaps his only reason for being on LinkedIn is for a connection with
the ODUG/CMOD group mentioned on his page.

Please clarify - WHICH page?

You gave the LinkedIn page of the bloke who runs ES earlier.

You should know by now that I am always suspicious of products and
services which are provided without charge.

Yet you're not suspicious of Facebook? Basic LinkedIn is without
charge. Facebook and Twitter are also. You pay by allowing them to
collect data and profile you for advertisers. Whatsapp is free, it's
encrypted, there's no advertising and it's now owned by FB. I don't
know how they made money.

I'm suspicious of EVERYTHING I see on-line!

Including FB which you are on? Including Whatsapp which has no obvious
revenue source? You specifically mentioned services without charge.

This guy certainly is not 'genuine'!

https://ibb.co/bJd1DdC

He used to be the 'moderator' of the scorched-earth newsgroup hosted by
Annexcafe - and also was one of the main users of the Dogagent server.

Don't know what you mean by him being "not genuine".

Many thousands of Usenet posters use the 'free' Eternal-September'
news-server - and *none pay for the service*. Nobody seems to question
the motivation of the provider.

It's been said the bloke who runs aioe does it for a hobby. He lives in
Italy and says it's mostly used by Italians. A philanthropic gesture
toward his fellow citizens, perhaps. Maybe ES is run for similar
reasons. What motivation bothers you here?

I'm not truly bothered

So, no need to be concerned over the motivation.

- but admit to slight frustration when my various
queries have not been answered truthfully.

Hmmm... I wonder why? [rhet]

To my mind, it a bit like a 'garage' which serves free petrol and
diesel.

Hardly comparable. Running a news server has costs but not like that.

How do you know HOW much?!! I suspect you are simply guessing. ;-)

Come off it.

You must be a bit older than I thought! ;-)

I've told you once (no you haven't!).

Perhaps you, like me, remember Horace Batchelor!

"Horace Batchelor, Department One, Keynsham, spelt K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M,
Keynsham, Bristol".

I don't remember him but now I know where the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
got the Keynsham album/song idea from. Thanks.

Lipstickgleam

Cling cling the ring
Clang clang she sang
It's tragic magic
There are no coincidences
But sometimes the pattern is more obvious.

Keynsham. Tell me more about Keynsham.

I don't remember listening to it. There were a lot of foreign stations
but I think most were indisctinct, faded in and out, whistled or gave
static.

The perils of Short Wave radio. Eddy's dutch voice reminded me of Father

Wow man what an exciting life you lead.

Dead right, man! Working with Windows isn't straight-forward for
a Mac aficionado! ;-)

Maybe you can explain how/why my header refers to Dustin?

Dustin who?

The author of the real-life virus called IROK

From twenty years ago. Why do you leave that detail out?

More importantly, why are you writing **** about me, again? And what
do you mean by one in the eye for Dustin with your fqdn line?

Perhaps you'll also notice that this post of mine has been
written and posted before you posted yours!

Maybe you're living in the past?

It won't be too long before I'm past living! ;-)

I'm looking forward to that.

An account holder (or someone w/ his credentials) can configure
the account at e-s with a (possibly bogus or borrowed) FQDN for
e-s to use when creating the M-ID for the account's msg/s.

Enter he http://www.eternal-september.org/signon.php (warning;
insecure connxn for such as credential entering)

FQDN

You may now register a FQDN that you may use to generate your own
Message-IDs Please enter the desired subdomain part.
Your complete FQDN will be yoursubdomain.eternal-september.org

That is where you would put your 'one-in-the-eye-for-dustin'

As regards other configurations, you should remove this Avast sig
ad trailer from your msg/s by configuring Avast

Hi Mike.

So. How much longer are you just going to troll me? You can't claim
your post to pooh claiming I was a bully towards BD or this one isn't
trolling me..

You've become quite the joke, and posts like this, or your previous
one questioning my FQDN line and confusing it for being an ID token
aren't exactly putting you in a better light. If anything, the older
you get, the more moronic your thinking has become.

Tell us all again how David Brooks isn't a stalker; that's always
good for a laugh, Mike!

Thank you for the reminder, Mike!

That is a pretty significant degree of 'forgetful' to not
remember having done something like that.

When I look around to see if there are online tests for
forgetfulness, the first things I encounter are simple tests
based on short-term memory loss such as cognitive impairment.Â*
That doesn't seem appropriate for forgetting something not so
recent but 'significant' (not significant in substance, but
significant in 'structure', ie logging into one's e-s account and
/also/ choosing the phrase one-in-the-eye-for-dustin which is
quite unique - but which you did at some point in the past.

Someone is likely to say that could well be related to alcohol
impairment.

Here's another idea; see if you like this one better.

You DID NOT actually forget having done that.

Someone give mike a cookie!

Instead, you dishonestly *pretended* to not know how that M-ID
header came to be that way in order to *draw attention* to it, so
that you could demonstrate to others how clever you are.

Rather, how clever he isn't.

Presumably you particularly wanted Dustin to note how 'clever' you
are, as he is prone to whip up custom M-IDs by his agent, not by
the NSP.

Actually, it's part of a startup batch file for xnews. It's
automated. I don't have to do it by hand as David obviously did. And
unlike you, I know the client I use; well enough NOT TO CONFUSE THE
ID TOKEN FOR THE FQDN line. You cannot state the same.

He probably banned BD for explicit STALKING.
I have no idea who the person is(I never click on shortened
links), but there's a chance BD is bad-mouthing him because he's dead,
and the victim can't refute BD's *LIES*.

How is it relevant when? I am not saying I am condemning you for it (I
am not) but it is merely a fact of your history that you (apparently)
did some very immoral things.

Now maybe you want to jump in and apologize for doing so, or at least
showing some level of remorse, and then noting you think you have
changed. THAT would make the time frame relevant.

More importantly, why are you writing **** about me, again? And what
