Default ShutDown Problem, Reinstall?

Hi,

I have huge Shutdown-Problems, caused by the setup of DriveImage 7.0.
I mean, I have to wait ca. 4min 30sec till the PC shuts down after the last
window "Windows is shutting down..." disappeared. I uninstalled DI 7.0 but
no change, still takes that long... now, i thought, i have to setup a new
copy of wXP, but i want to take all good configs from the old one to the new
one, so my question:
if i backup "All information on this computer" with the wXP-Backup-Utility
and restore the backup on my new System, are the Shutdown Problems the same
as now or not?
Ideas? Solutions? Suggestions?
Thanks!

Before resorting to a reinstall to fix a slow shutdown, take a look at
the info at http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.htm, especially slow
shutdown section.

already had a look on this document. no solution for me, i think
DI7.0-uninstall didn't remove the whole stuff, because DI7.0 runs in a
"Hot-Mode" which enables imagin' while windows is running.... so, it "has to
be" a task started from DI7.0 but i don't know which one....exactly....

Hi Ron,

Thank you for posting!

Have you tried to use System Restore? It might be helpful as you installed
and removed it recently.

After searching Microsoft Knowledge base articles, I found that the below
article must be helpful.

Resources to help troubleshoot shutdown problems in Windows XP (308029)

Have a nice day!

Check in a run of MSConfig.exe, look in the Services page and check
'Hide all Microsoft', so as to show only ones installed by third
parties. See if you can identify one as belonging to DI (they are
usually fairly well identified) and uncheck it
