You would be much wiser to solve why it is slow rather than reverting back
to IE7. Millions are using IE8 without problems. wrote in message ... How do I Revert Back to IE-7? XP-MCE user. IE-8, to me, is slow - long time to load. -7 was a breeze. Appreciated and Thank You! Wayne |

From the same page:
Alternative steps for Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003 To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps: 1. Carefully select and then copy the following command: %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe 2. Click Start, and then click Run. 3. In the Open box, type Cmd.exe, and then press ENTER. 4. Right-click inside the Cmd.exe window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1. 5. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8. 6. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer. As others have mentioned, SP3 complicates everything. Typically, XP ships with IE6 (unless the OEM customized your installation). Best practice is to install SP3 and *then* upgrade to either IE7 or IE8. Depending on when you upgraded to SP3, you may need to uninstall it before uninstalling IE8. One scenario: Your PC came with XP at the SP2 level. And the browser was IE6. At some point you upgraded to IE7. Then you upgraded to SP3. Then you upgraded to IE8. (Not the best way. Once more, the best way is to leave IE at IE6 level and *then* upgrade to SP3. Once this is done, one may upgrade to either IE7 or directly to IE8.) If this scenario is yours, hopefully the method at the top of my post will work for you. Another scenario: SP3 was the last thing intalled. If this is the case, uninstall SP3 before you do anything else. wrote: Good Morning Alan: Followed instructions to remove Windows IE 8 when used with XP. Quess what? No REMOVE button.
