I can recommend AVG Free since I use it myself, but here is another option :
http://www.activevirusshield.com/ant...eav/index.adp? . Also
check with your ISP for any offers to subscribers. Earthlink has a good
offering.

The above, by Kaspersky, is one of the best with AntiVir #2 in the free class.

Here is yet another possibility besides AVG, Avast and AOL/Kaspersky :
http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/ . I am not really familiar with
this product at all.

It uses a Trend Micro engine and isn't nearly as good as AntiVir or AOL's Kaspersky
offereing.

Absolutely NOT !

Only download security related software from a manuafcturer, vendor or an authorized mirror.

NEVER download software from non-authorative sites.

Ironically, the email domain is "DoNotSpam.com". This may well be a malware
dissemination scheme.
