Default Need input on which NG to post SHARED FOLDER question

Hello,

I have a question regarding setup of shared folders and am not sure which MS
NG to post it in.

I have a situation where I have setup two shared folders (about a year apart
in time each) and am having problems accessing one of them, but not the
other. So the question will pertain to:

1 - How to properly setup shares, and

2 - How to look at the one share that is working, and write down the
settings, then apply them to the one that is not (if possible).

BTW: here are the parameters I'm working with:

FileServer: Windows 2000
Workstation: XP Pro, SP2 (although one is SP3)

So, which NG do you suggest?

PS - I originally posted this in Setup/Deployment but got no answer.

You should be on the system with the shared folders.
Right mouse click on the folder and select "Properties Sharing" you will
see the share name.
select permissions to view the share permissions (should be set to
"everyone" FC; if not just mimic the settings of the folder that works)
You can lock the folder down using the secuties tab and selecting which
users have rights or in your case view the security settings on the folder
that works.
