Vista has drivers to recognize the device; apparently your version of
XP does not. Contact whoever sold the device for proper drivers.

Oh, and this is NOT an XP problem but a hardware problem.

You won't get a response (at least not one you want). Iceman is a mentally
retarded 13 year old school kid who just snipes at people that *he*
considers has posted to the wrong group. Ignore him - everyone else does.
You could kill file him but that would be a waste of time as he regularly
changes his posting name to ensure that his unwanted postings ae seen by as
large an audience as possible. Says it all really. He will change his name
this weekend.

He is due to change his name this weekend so he won't be killfiled for long.

Default Magic jack

I have a Magic Jack device and it works on both Vista and XP.

About 10% of the time, I have to unplug the device, wait a moment or 2 and
try it again. Or try it in another USB slot. Then it works.

I have noticed that it interfers with CD/DVD access and other related
programs, but for the most part it works.

....and oh yeah, their customer support SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if it exists
at all.

Magic Jack needs a dedicated USB 2.0 controller/hub to be usable.
Because most PCs have only one or two USB 2.0 controllers you can
run into bandwidth usage issues. On a shared USB Hub you'll notice a
"Choppy" or spotty voice reception using one. It's not a universal
issue but something that happens quite a bit.
