Default Where did my firewall go?????

i just upgraded from Win 98 SE to XP Home Edition last week. I could swear
the firewall was there, now I keep getting a security message saying my
firewall is turned off. when I go to control panel's Windows Firewall it
tells me that the firewall associated service is not running and if i want to
start Internet Connection Sharing, i say yes, then it tells me i can't start
it even though I am online. what happened?????

What firewall were you using in Win98? Do you have XP Service Pack 2
installed? Please post back with a better description of your computer,
the firewall, how you upgraded (upgrade vs. clean install), and the
service pack level.
