Default Ultimate 32 bit and secpol

Hi all,

I'de been digging around but unfortunately without any kind of sucess.

I've Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit and I need to enable plain password
for smb shares. This is because I need to connect to a samba share on a
unix.

Either way, I could do this in XP/2000/2003 by going to Local Security
Policy and edit the Plain Password. In vista it doesn't open. I have
the file under c:\windows\system32\secpol.msc but when I try to run it
with mmc it gives:

*MMC could not create the snap in*

I've tried to run the script from microsoft
*http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930056* but without any look still ...
I tried to edit regedit and once more withou any good result besides
not able to connect to the share.

Has anyone manage to have this working? incluiding the secpol under
vista?

Thanks
EtherealSoul

There is no "Ultimate" version of Windows XP. Window XP (and it
security) is the topic of this newsgroup. Post in a Vista security
newsgroup, like microsoft.public.windows.vista.security.
