i have a compaq 6027us and the
power on password is on and has locked me out how do i unlock the pc. i need the hp secret password to reset it. thanks |

If by power on password you mean a BIOS password (something below the
windows level), most PC makers provide information on how to reset or blank-out such a password. Go to the Compaq support website for details, which vary among PCs. Usually this will be something like removing the battery on the motherboard and waiting a prescribed amount of time, or it could be installing a temporary jumper. But, do not guess, since doing it wrong could destroy the PC. Go see Compaq. Go to Compaw support wesite for info on how to reset/remove a BIOS password.
