Subfolders sharing... HELP!!!

Dear Tom,

Thank you for your reply... I did it and got the old way back, but I
might be getting a little old :-))) I can't do it... I either let
everybody access everything or something is not accessible by
anyone... would you please give me the correct way to do this? I am
going nuts...

I have added all users to the WXP account manager with the same
passwords thay use to log on their machines, but the problem mentioned
above remains...

Open Windows Explorer, select menu Tools | Folder Options; select View tab,
deselect 'Use simple file sharing (Recommended)' option in the Advanced
Settings and click OK.

Now, right click on a folder, select Properties, click Sharing tab, select
'Share this folder'; click Permission button and add (Add button) whoever
you want to have access to. To give just read permission, check Read option
or all options for full control.

It's a breeze in XP too, just doesn't look the same by default. If you
want to get the W2K way back, open Explorer and select Tools, Folder
Options and go to the View tab. Scroll down in the list of advanced
settings all the way to the end and remove the check from "Use simple file
sharing (Recommended)." Click Apply.

Once that is turned off, sharing and security will be added to the context
menu of each folder, allowing you to set up the shares and permissions
that you want.
