When will the next version of Windows likely be released?

Although you can find rumors, nobody knows for sure. I'd be very wary
of trusting any of the rumors.
I know for sure but I'm not into rumors

No one knows for sure, but Microsoft is targeting late 2011 for Windows
8. I doubt it will be out that soon. Mid 2012 seems more likely.

Right. As I said, nobody (not even those at Microsoft) knows for sure.
A target is one thing, but hitting the target is another. It depends
on how testing goes.

Moreover nobody knows for sure what its name will be. You call it
Windows 8, and it's possible that Microsoft may give it that name. But
it remains to be seen.

If they release it in 2012, maybe they should name it Armageddon. :-)
