Default Windows XP & Excel

You should be able to download an Excel viewer that will enable you to open
the file, you will not be able to edit it though without having Office or
Excel installed on your machine but you will be able to view the
attachments.
Hope this helps
Joan

I have recently purchased a HP with Windows XP. I have
been sent an excel (.xls) file as an attachment via
email, and cannot seem to open this document. Everytime
I attempt to, I get a pop-up message directing me to the
Microsoft Office web-site. When I get to this site, it
states the infomation I need is contained at this site.
However, there is NO clear direction on how to get the
info needed to open the excel file.
CAN YOU, PLEASE, HELP ME WITH THIS????

Thank you, in advance.

Russ Ramsey

Windows XP is your computer's operating system. It does not include
any Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel. You can purchase
Microsoft Office or Excel at your favorite store that sells computer
software programs.

Buying computer software at your favourite store is frequently not the =
most economic way to purchase. In the UK it is cheaper to look in the =
computer magazines and buy Online from an identified source.
