Default start up problem

when i start my computer it says
windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt: windows root\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
please can you help I dont know where to look for the
file so maybe you could send it to me with instructions
on how to install......HELP!

First check you boot.ini file to see if it is not corrupt
