Default Messenger hijacks CPU for 99% usage

Anyone know why msmsgs.exe periodically hijacks my CPU for
99% usage, requiring me to use "End Process" to shut it
down?

Very annoying when this happens mid-conversation.

Thanks

Greetings Todd,

Have you installed DirectX 9? If so, you'll need to upgrade to DirectX 9a:
