Default Jonathan...please help with Messenger...

I have been having a problem with transfering files and voice over both
Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger and would like to figure it out with
your help possibly!

I will try to give as much info as possible so we might be able to solve
this or I'll go crazy!

I am running XP Pro sp1,
I am using the MS MN-100 Wired Base Station
I am using Norton Internet Security 2003 Pro

I have tried to troubleshhot with the info given by both Symantec and
Microsoft but to no avail....First, is the Microsoft Base Station MN-100 a
UPnP NAT?

Do I need to enable the UPnP service in XP Pro in order for the Base Station
to work with Messenger? I have heard that both the UPnP and the SSDP
Discovery Services are a big security hole...is this still true? I have
them disabled as of this email!

Is there anything I need to do to configure the MN-100 Base Station either
through XP or it's Broadband Networking Software and with NIS 2003 to let
both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger to work properly?

I have configured NIS to automatically configure it's Program Control for
both through it's Program Control feature. Still can't transfer files!

Since the only thing that I can think of that is holding me back in usung
file transfer in Messenger's are either NIS 2003 Pro, the MS Base Station
and it's software or the services I disabled in XP Pro....UPnp and SSDP
Disc. Services.

Any help would be great!
