Default remote desktop quits working if server is logged onto domain

Not sure if this is the place to post but i'll do it anyway. I have a 2003
server (quite a few) on our domain (chm.lan). I'd been able to RD into it
this morning. After a reboot and sign on it wouldn't work anymore. I signed
it on as admin to our domain. Spent about a half hour figuring out what was
up; it responded to ping, tracert....I finally decided to log on to the LOCAL
MACHINE instead of the domain and now my RD works. Any ideas? i've found
nothing on this bizarre incident. Thanks
